I’m usually not allowed to discuss my actual projects on here due to ongoing confidentiality agreements, however every once and a while I have a public domain app that I can showcase (today is such a day). We are getting ready to release an app that is extremely basic in terms of functionality, but powerful in regards to utilization. The app is iOS based and will be distributed through the enterprise application program Apple makes available to developers that require company-specific applications.
The app is basic in functionality because it’s a single page app with a standard scroll view controller that queries a singular database using the core data framework in Xcode.
Despite it’s basic process, the app is highly anticipated by our employees because it will give them turn by turn directions to every oil well in the Permian Basin.
There is no proprietary technology associated with the app, however it effectively illustrates the power of the iOS platform and how it can be utilized by enterprises. To review, all that was required to build this app was: 1. Single page application, 2. Scroll view controller, 3. Core data framework, 4. All of the above connected to the map application that comes native on the iPhone.
